Glen defeats Uralla

24/07/2008 11:37:00 AM
Only 12 players in the under 16’s minor league side travelled to Uralla on Saturday and came away with a good win. Glen Innes allowed Uralla to score a converted try early in the half however Glen Innes lifted and scored a try of their own to B Dawson which was converted from near the side line by B Anderson.

This inspired the boys who kept Uralla scoreless with solid defence, enabling Glen to score two tries both to H Johnson and both converted making the half time score 18-6.The boys carried on in the second half with another try to H Johnson but then a lack of concentration in defence out wide saw the Uralla boys score two quick tries and they out played Glen Innes for the next ten minutes.

However Glen Innes stood up and impressed, getting themselves back on top in the game with 4 pointers to B Dawson, H Johnson and Jamie Williamson to make the final score 34 -14.

Glen’s best were T Munro and B Dawson who were outstanding in defence.

After a few weeks off Glen Innes minor league travel to Inverell this Saturday for another Gala Day to play Inverell West with times and grounds as follows:
